The market just woke up to the fact that geopolitics still matters. Overnight, U.S. strikes hit Iranian missile launchers in the Strait of Hormuz, and oil prices immediately jumped more than two percent.

This isn't just an oil story; the shockwaves are hitting the bond market, with the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield pushing past four-point-seven-five percent. This is the market pricing in a real risk premium, and prediction markets agree. Polymarket gives just a three percent chance that traffic in the strait returns to normal by the end of September.

But here's my read: the most important reaction is the one that isn't happening. While oil spiked, long-term bond yields are holding relatively steady. The market isn't panicking about a new wave of inflation from this. It's an early vote of confidence that the new Fed Chair, Kevin Warsh, will absorb this shock without flinching.

This is the first major test for the new Fed. I'm tracking how this geopolitical pressure tests the chair's resolve on the 'The Warsh Vacuum' page over on korra dot finance. The real tell is oil versus bonds. If oil keeps climbing but long-term yields stay anchored, it means the market believes Warsh has this under control.
