The US 10-year Treasury yield just hit five point three four percent, its highest level since 2002. The bond market is screaming that the cost of money is getting painful, and that changes the math for every asset on the planet.
And in a world where that should be crushing risk assets, Bitcoin is up three and a half percent today, pushing towards eighty-seven thousand dollars. It’s a complete disconnect from the macro fear signal.
This is a clean split. Macro traders see danger, but the crypto-native bid is ignoring it. Polymarket odds for Bitcoin to close above eighty-six thousand dollars today jumped fifty-two points overnight to seventy-four percent. The on-chain money is betting this rally has legs, regardless of what the bond market says.
The big test comes in a few hours with the Average Hourly Earnings report. I'm tracking this tension between yields and crypto on the 10Y Yield Hits 5.34% page on korra dot finance. Watch that print—if wages are hot, this Bitcoin rally runs into a wall of reality.
